Introduction: Charlie Abbott
Hello everyone!
My name is Charlie Abbott, and I am so excited to serve as one of the vice-chairs of the IGF committee for BMUN 70! I am a 4th year senior here at UC Berkeley, majoring in Sociology with a minor in Human Rights. I am currently in my 8th year of MUN and am sad to see BMUN be my last conference ever, but excited to see what happens in our committee!
Outside of BMUN, I am a barista at Philz Coffee and a Spin Instructor! I am a coffee addict and love to spread my passion for group fitness to everyone around me! I also enjoy adventures around the Bay Area, reading new novels, and watching an entire season of a Netflix series in a day. I will be moving to Boston post-graduation, and am so excited to get to see a new place, as I've lived in California my entire life.
I am excited to be a part of IGF due to my non-technical background as a Sociology student. While I may not be well versed in the interworkings of Computer Science and Mathematics, I am extremely interested in the policies surrounding data privacy and cryptocurrencies. These policies are actually grounded quite a bit in Sociological research, so I am excited to share my understanding of this background with you all in our committee! Please reach out to me, cabbott@bmun.org if you have any questions about how you can craft your solutions!
Best,
Charlie Abbott
